John Carter Sharing in Church

Brother John Carter shared with FBC congregation last night in the Church. He related his experience as an Elder in his church and how various work have been carried out so that we can learn from his experiences. Various members of our church asked him questions regarding the present status of our church. Some questions were asked so that we can understand Biblical intepretation regarding the issues and whether what we do are according to the scripture. Many relevant questions were answered, and I believe we can safely say that as long as we follow the teaching in the Bible we should be alright.

One of the important theme I got from his sharing is - forgiveness. I have also shared on this subject in my previous posts, and they are in line with John's sharing. Perhaps you can review those posts like the one by Professor Smedes. Indeed, we must forgive and seek forgiveness, because we may have wronged others, and we need their forgiveness. We are not perfect. If we are wrong we seek forgiveness. It is part of the healing process as well as showing love like Jesus who showed us love. Love others like Jesus loves us.

1 Cor13:4

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud."

I Cor 15:8

"Love never fails"

Let us love others unconditionally, and let us be Christ-like a little by little. Like Brother John said, grace needs time to work in us.
